Mutt stage 2

Well here is my adorable mutt at stage 2. I still want to make some changes here and there, but not get too fussy. Question...what do you find the best way to photograph your oil paintings, is? I can't take it outside because it's still snowing and raining. I can't scan it, because it's still wet. Gonna try by the window, with no flask. The shiny oil paint keeps giving me reflections! I never have that problem with my colored pencils, obviously, because I can scan them and they con't shine. Been a while since I painted!

Excellent mutt puppy! I haven't painted in oils in more years than I want to think about, so no clue from me. Love those eyes!

Love him already. Those faithful eyes. Are you sure you want to know about making good photographs of oil paintings indoors? It involves studio lighting (but these can be workshop lights with a thin fabric over them - they get very hot so be careful with the fabric). I would wait until the weather changes.

I can't help you with the photo problem, but I can tell you how awesome that painting is! He's adorable, that little dog! The red background works so well, too.

Thanks everyone. I guess I'll wait until the next thaw and shoot the photos outside! I'm not into staging a big production with lights. I may work on this a bit more.

Well, I can't help you with your question since I don't work in oil, but I can tell you this: that is one adorable mutt you have there! nancy

Great painting Revelle, I have taken photos inside if you can get enough natural light (from above) but this one looks good to me. Hope it thaws out soon
