Angus
I painted this yesterday for my Dad's 90th birthday, coming up this month. His old black lab mix, Angus, passed away a few months ago and I thought he'd enjoy a painting of him. I couldn't find an actual photo of him but did a search on the web of photos of old black labs and with some input from my brother as to what he actually looked like, put together this painting. My Dad lives in Florida and me in New Hampshire, so I only have vague recollections of Angus. Plus I hate to fly so I haven't been down there for a while. My dad comes up here to visit every summer, but the dog stays down there. A notice to everyone...take lots of pictures of your pets!!!!!! Some day you may want a portrait of them.

What a beautiful painting and thoughtful gift!
This is such a nice picture and memory...how thoughtful!
Cute. You really captured lots of character in this painting.
I have pictures of my dog AND he's still alive. Maybe it's time to have a go at getting his likeness on paper.
He looks fabulous against the bright background! Love his cute, eager face! A real lab!
OK, you scored with this one. We have a black lab mix getting gray in the muzzle, and my all-time favorite dog growing up was a black lab mix that grew to be gray, too. You've capture 'that look'. He's happy to be your pack buddy. Nice.
what a great gift for your dad! very nice painting.
I'm sure your dad will love this. You are so lucky to have your dad around!
