Sparrow for Abbie

Here's a new painting I'm working on for my granddaughter Abbie. It's not quite finished but I wanted to share it. I've gone from not thinking I could draw a bird, to actually painting one in oils! All thanks to the kind inspiration of people on this site.

Waiting by the stream

My husband was taking our dog, Cleo, for a swim so I did a quick sketch of the roadside fence (mighty old fence!) while I waited for them to finish. I've been gone for a while. Cat bit me really bad and I had to go to the hospital for IV antibiotics 5 days in a row. I've been missing everyone and I'm glad to be back.
